Fibre Pigtails
About Fibre Pigtails
A pigtail is a short length of fibre with a factory-fitted connector on one end. It is fusion-spliced to the incoming cable inside an ODF, patch panel or closure, so each fibre ends in a ready-made connector. The range covers SC, LC, ST and FC connectors with UPC or APC polish, in single-mode (OS2 and G.657.A1) and multimode (OM3, OM4 and OM5) types, with LSZH-sheathed versions.
Select the pigtail to match the cable’s fibre type and the adapters in the panel, including the polish type. Pigtails are spliced in ODFs, fibre patch panels and splice closures, and plug into the matching fibre adapters. For the cables themselves see Single Mode and Multimode Fibre Cables.
