About Cat6 U/UTP Cables
U/UTP is the unshielded Cat6 construction: four twisted pairs with no foil or braid screen, which keeps the cable lighter and the termination simpler. TMT offers 14 Cat6 U/UTP models across several series, all with 23 AWG conductors and supplied on 305 m reels. Jacket options are PVC for general indoor use, LSZH for low-smoke areas, PE for outdoor routes, and a double-jacket outdoor version.
U/UTP is the usual choice for office and building cabling away from strong electrical interference. Where screening is required, compare Cat6 F/UTP and Cat6 S/FTP. Terminate with unshielded keystone jacks and patch with Cat6 patch cords. See all Cat6 constructions in Cat6 Network Cables.
