About Cat6 Patch Cords
Cat6 patch cords connect panel ports to switches and wall outlets to devices in a Cat6 channel. The nine series cover three constructions: U/UTP (23 and 24 AWG, including an outdoor version and a transparent series), F/UTP at 23 AWG, and S/FTP at 23 and 24 AWG. Each series code identifies its construction; available lengths are listed on the model page.
Match the cord to the installed link: unshielded cords for U/UTP cabling, screened cords for F/UTP or S/FTP systems. The 24 AWG versions are slightly thinner, which can help in dense patching.
