About Fibre Patch Cords
Fibre patch cords are pre-terminated optical leads that connect active equipment to patch panels, ODFs and splitters. The range is split into single-mode patch cords and multimode patch cords in OM2, OM3, OM4 and OM5 grades. Most are LSZH-sheathed, in simplex or duplex form, with SC or LC connectors and UPC or APC end-face polish.
Three checks avoid mismatches: the fibre type must match the installed cable, the connector style must match the adapter, and APC cords should mate with APC ports. For bulk termination use pigtails; for panel hardware see Fibre Adapters and Fibre Distribution.
