About Coaxial Cables

Coaxial cables carry video and RF signals on a centre conductor surrounded by shielding. The range covers 75 Ω types for video and TV distribution: RG59, RG6 and the larger RG11 for long runs, with foil-and-braid or quad-shield screening on the RG6 and RG11 versions. There is also 50 Ω RG58 for RF applications, and an RG59 coax with an integrated 2-core power pair. Several models are supplied on 305 m reels.

Choose impedance by the equipment (75 Ω for video, 50 Ω for RF), cable size by run length, and quad-shield where interference is a concern. For CCTV cables that combine coax with power and control pairs see CCTV Cables; the wider range is in Security & ELV.
